Eurofins Nanolab Technologies offers its customers Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS) services. Whether you are seeking to speed time-to-market, solve manufacturing problems or ensure regulatory compliance turn to Eurofins. We know how to bring the power of science to every phase of your product lifecycle.
Electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) measures the elemental content of atomic scale and nanoscale structures. EELS is best for low atomic number (Z) elements such as Be, B, C, N, O, F, Na, and Mg.
The technique relies on the energy of the incident electrons being reduced as they pass through the material. The energy loss can then be characterized to provide elemental identification. EELS provides improved signal to noise, increased spatial resolution and improved analysis for elements with a lower atomic number. For some elements, it is also possible to investigate chemical bonding.
Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy is very useful for checking band gap, thickness, and a selective element survey.
